Nail post~ this color is what I like to call mermaid nails. I have been waiting all winter to have mermaid nails and now that we’re nearing summer IT IS TIME.
So, first things first there’s two nail polishes that look very similar in this picture, you may notice. The one on my nails is the Orly color “Hailey’s Comet” because after testing them both I decided I liked it better than “Henley Regatta” by Butter London. But damnit everyone is using butter and I just wanted to be part of the club ok. Also, it shows that Orly is an almost perfect dupe (not perfect because its more shiny and pigmented) for Henley Regatta. If you had your eye on this color go for the Orly one instead is you can find it because it is half the price, 8 dollars vs 18 dollars for the Butter Shade. The polish lasted about a week, no chips for a good 4 days. Not too shabby.

Just ordered all of these (except for the one that’s crossed out obviously) from Coastal Scents for my photoshoot this weekend! I will be the model and the MUA so that’s funny but I’m still going to have fun. AND I’LL HAVE BLUE HAIR. Prepare yo eyes.
The photographer was nice enough to reimburse me for these as a thank you for modelling for him, and I’m so excited to get to use them! Pictures will definitely be posted and I have a lot of videos and pictures to catch up on from my huge hiatus.
P.S. Coastal Scents is awesome, if you haven’t ordered from there and you have 30 bucks to blow (it’s very hard to spend much less) GO DO THAT NOW. You’ll get useful pro-quality makeup and tools for next to nothing. Perfect for beginner MUA’s on a budget.

The makings of my custom palette! It’s far from finished though, we lost a few on the way but it’s coming along. I will do a full description of what’s in it and a tutorial when its done. By the way Coastal scents is a BITCH to depot. Not a fun experience, and I do not recommend it. Haha.

P.S. sorry about my lack of posts lately, December is the busiest month ever for me! Holidays, vacations, finals, AND I picked up a few sidejobs plus the usual full time. So basically I come home and sleep and that’s it. Social life? What’s that?

okay, so I have a darker lip color and it is really hard to fin d a pale pink or a nude color that look good without looking pastie or being so sheer that it doesn't event look like im wearing anything except gloss. I went to Mac and got a gloss but it isnt long lasting and it s nude that still isnt what i was looking for. Any thought.??
Hey Ammipoo, this is Morgan. (:
Well, I personally love my Mac Viva Glam Gaga 2 lipstick, and applied with a peachy gloss and a light hand it can really be very subtle if that’s what you’re looking for. It is also very buildable, so if you wanted a dramatic nude lip it would be ideal for that too. I have very light skin so I’ll have Samantha answer this question later too because she has a more olive tone. But I definitely recommend you give that a shot, and remember a light hand! I like to blend it with my pinkie before I put on gloss.
It is also for a good cause, I believe all of the proceeds, if not a good bit of it goes to the MAC AIDS fund. It also comes in a gloss! The lipstick is about 15 dollars, and you can buy it here: http://www.maccosmetics.com/whats_new/4800/index.tmpl
I might also recommend trying some of the nude shades in the Revlon Lip Butter line that everyone is raving about?
I hope this helped, let me know what you find!

Hey Ammi,
So I definitely think you should try the Mac Pro Longwear Lipglass. I always put some on before work, and it stays until the end of my 8 hour shift. It is also almost like a lipstick because it is definitely not sheer. My go to pale/pink from that line is Inifinitely Likable, I think it would be good with your skin tone, since I have more olive/tan complexion like you. If not, you can always try Show Me! From the Pro Longwear, which is a nude but not as pasty pink. You also should try the Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brule. It is pigmented enough to cover the darkness in your lips. The only down side is that you would have to re-apply every 30 minutes-2 hours depending on what you are doing. Also, Neutrogena has a tinted lip balm in Soft Caramel which is also good and has decent coverage & Rimmel has a pretty nude/pink lipstick called Airy Fairy which I would say would be the best lipstick for your skin tone.
I really hope this helped you!
♥ Samantha
